Volunteers are the backbone of our communities, especially when it comes to providing youth activities.  Volunteers are great value for money, enabling things to happen which would otherwise fail through lack of money.  And volunteering also offers great opportunities for people to gain new skills and experience and build personal confidence.

Berkshire Youth works to ensure a regular supply of high quality, committed individuals who can provide young people across the county with; ‘somewhere to go’, ‘something to do’ and ‘someone to talk to’. In this way, we offer routes into volunteering for young people.

Our volunteers come to us from all walks of life, from those who have been involved with us for decades through their connections with clubs to young people who are looking to enhance their skills. Some volunteers respond to our campaigns: others feel passionately about supporting children and young people. Some want to meet new people and others just want to have fun!

We understand that each one of you chooses to give us and our clubs and projects your time for different reasons and we will work hard to ensure those motivations continue to be met. We want every one of you to get the maximum benefit out of your time with us because we never forget that every one of you is absolutely vital to our work.

Volunteering Opportunities

Our opportunities for volunteering are always developing and evolving with our delivery, but here are a few examples of how adults and young people can get involved with us:

  • Berkshire Youth ‘Youth Board’ Member – Locally based young people of all ages championing the work of Berkshire Youth, its partners and projects.

  • Youth Club Volunteers – Either running the sessions or the committee behind the running of the club.
  • Healthy Lifestyle Volunteers – Helping to deliver and promote our youth healthy lifestyle projects.
  • Volunteer Trainers – Helping to deliver training sessions on behalf of Berkshire Youth.
  • Fundraisers – Helping to raise funds for Berkshire Youth’s delivery costs.
